
Humble
After being sent home in the spring quarter because of COVID lockdowns, we had to adapt our class to work online. We did a group project where we had to develop ideas for a 3D environment based on randomly selected words, each given a season, place, and adjective

French
Using our words “Humble French Summer”, our group set out to find research images that related to those ideas. We also started to develop a loose story based on this, to create inhabitants of the environment. Through several discussions, we settled on a lesbian cottagecore couple who lived in the French countryside

Summer
We made image banks to get inspiration for the types of objects that would be in the environment, and decided that our inhabitants would likely be the type of people to go on a picnic together. As we presented ideas to the class, we got feedback on what people responded to and what they didn’t to further develop our 3D concept
Picnic
As it was a virtual group project, only one of us could create the final draft. I found as many items as I could that were based on our research, and found a location to set up, photograph, and film our still life scene. We created space for each of the two characters, and picked things that would represent each of their personalities. The link to our image banks as well as the final video can be found below:
